What are the payment terms and schedules?

We start with the discovery phase to understand your business, goals, and what your website needs to deliver. If you’re wondering why this comes first, read “Why do you want to meet with me before you’ll give me an estimate”. Payment for this phase is due in full before we begin.

After that, the payment schedule depends on the scope outlined from the discovery phase.

Most projects follow a 50/50 split—50% up front, and the remaining 50% due either at sign-off (just before launch to your domain), or 12 weeks after the project start date, whichever comes first.

However, if you’ve selected some optional add-on services, some of the balance payments might be scheduled for a later date, when that work is scheduled to start. For example, if your project includes a larger number of extra pages, we may recommend rolling those out over time so Google doesn’t penalize your website—if that’s the case, payment for those pages would be spread out to align with when the work is scheduled to occur.

We’ll clearly outline the full payment schedule in the proposal—that way there are no surprises, and you know exactly what’s due when and how that aligns with your business goals.
